Providing Global Study Abroad Opportunities
MSMU alumna and long-time supporter Margaret Mary Murphy always remembered her time at Mount Saint Mary's University fondly. The Mount had such a profound impact on her life that she decided to support nursing students through a gift in her estate plan.
When Margaret passed away in May 2017, The Margaret Mary Murphy Expendable Scholarship for Nurses' Global Study was established to provide nursing students with financial assistance to study abroad. Her legacy can be seen in the gifts she has provided to our students through her generous support.
This academic year, nursing students will travel to Belize and work with local students to establish a mobile health monitoring system focused on tracking the chronically ill. This unique experience will provide our students with professional clinical skills in a global context.
Like Margaret, you can help make a difference in students' lives by becoming a member of the Heritage Society, a group of visionary individuals who have chosen to create a legacy at MSMU.
